1. About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Companion To Clarity during the beta testing period.
By creating an account or using Companion To Clarity, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not create an account or use the service.
2. What Companion To Clarity is
Companion To Clarity is an AI-powered reflection companion designed to provide a private place to think, reflect and gain clarity of thought.
The service may remember relevant information from previous conversations and may generate reflections, summaries and insights based on your interactions.
3. Beta service
Companion To Clarity is currently provided as a beta product.
The purpose of the beta is to understand whether the service provides genuine value, identify problems and improve the product.
During the beta period, features may change, become unavailable, be modified or be removed. The service may also contain errors or interruptions.
We do not guarantee that the beta service will always be available or operate without errors.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity carried out through your account.
You should not share your password with another person or allow another person to use your account.
You must provide an email address that you are authorised to use.
5. Your conversations
You retain responsibility for the information that you choose to provide to Companion To Clarity.
You should consider carefully what information you choose to enter into the service.
You should not provide information that you do not have the right to disclose or use.
You should also understand that conversations with an AI system may contain personal information and should be treated accordingly.
6. AI-generated responses
Companion To Clarity uses artificial intelligence to generate responses, reflections, summaries and insights.
AI-generated information may be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate or misleading.
You should use your own judgement when considering any information provided by Companion To Clarity.
Companion To Clarity does not guarantee that any AI-generated response is accurate, complete or suitable for your particular circumstances.
7. Not professional advice
Companion To Clarity is not a doctor, psychologist, psychotherapist, counsellor, solicitor, financial adviser or other regulated professional.
The service does not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, financial or other professional advice.
You should seek appropriate professional advice where necessary.
8. Crisis and emergency situations
Companion To Clarity is not an emergency or crisis service.
You should not rely on Companion To Clarity for immediate assistance in an emergency or crisis.
If you believe that you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency or crisis service.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Companion To Clarity:
- For unlawful purposes.
- To attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or another user's account.
- To interfere with or disrupt the operation of the service.
- To deliberately introduce malicious software, code or other harmful material.
- To abuse, harass or threaten other people through features of the service.
- To circumvent usage restrictions or security measures.
10. Intellectual property
The Companion To Clarity name, branding, software, design and underlying technology are owned by or licensed to the operator of the service.
You may use the service for its intended personal purpose during the beta period.
You must not copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, distribute or commercially exploit the service without permission.
11. Feedback
We may ask beta users to provide feedback about their experience with Companion To Clarity.
You agree that we may use feedback you voluntarily provide to improve the service and develop future versions of Companion To Clarity.
We will not publish your private conversations or identify you publicly as the source of feedback without appropriate permission.
12. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of Companion To Clarity during the beta period.
We may also introduce new features or change existing features as we learn from beta testing.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
Companion To Clarity is provided during the beta period on an experimental basis.
To the extent permitted by law, we make no guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or suitable for your particular needs.
14. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Subject to that limitation, to the extent permitted by law, we will not be responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the beta service.
15. Suspension or termination
You may stop using Companion To Clarity at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access to the service where reasonably necessary, including where we believe these Terms have been breached or where necessary to protect the service or its users.
16. Privacy
Your use of Companion To Clarity is also subject to our Privacy Notice.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Companion To Clarity develops.
Where appropriate, we will notify users of material changes and provide an updated effective date.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
